Year 8 My London Project

This year the Art department created a new scheme of work for the year 8 students called ‘My London’ based on their local area and community.  Student sourced information from their personal interests and objects that defined their local area. Students were introduced to different street artists including Banksy and made critical studies and visual responses to his work. Students learned how street art can be used as an expression of our culture and a way of expressing political messages. Students final pieces were based on their class work and homework tasks where students created their own A2 size graphical street art posters using their primary and secondary sources. Here are just a few of the some of the final pieces created at the end of last term. Posters can also be found in the Art Corridor and on display in the conservatory.
